Preggo Update

Well today is May 2nd.... that can only mean one thing.... ONE MONTH TO GO!!!  Yahoo!!  I cannot even put into words how anxious Joel and I are both getting.  Things continue to go very smoothly with my pregnancy... and the little peanut keeps getting great reports at all of mama's checkups.  I still love to hear that pitter patter at all of the appointments, and I'm SO very thankful she is doing so well in there.  As of my last appointment, I am measuring a week ahead of my due date.  I am probably wrong, but my gut tells me that this little gal is going to make her debut in May and not hold out until June, which in all honesty is A-OK with mama!  Last week I could tell that she dropped... or in my own words, is beginning her descent: )  It is exciting to think that she is preparing to make her debut!  I plan to finish packing my bags tonight so I'm all ready whenever she is.  Joel keeps telling me to "lay down and keep your legs crossed" - lol: )  they just finally started planting for work, so he is hoping she holds out until they are done planting and spraying so it will be easier for him to break away.  I told him I'm not making any promises; )

According to my mom and sister, I am most definitely in the "nesting" stage.  Joel can definitely vouch for that too.  I have been busy cleaning the house, oganizing cupboards and closets, and washing up all of the baby clothes.  As far as the house is concerned, I finally feel like IT is ready for a baby too: )  Everything seems to be falling into place as we anxiously await our little angel's arrival.  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous, but what first-time-mom wouldn't be?!  It probably doesn't help that other mom's keep telling me their labor horror stories (thanks Larissa:-)

We have had such wonderful baby showers, and are overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends and family.  Thank you so much for hosting such memorable showers, and for all of the great gifts!  She has gotten so many cute clothes and fantastic gifts, and I can't wait to dress her up and use all of her new things!  She hasn't even arrived yet, but she is so incredibly spoiled already!!

Yes, the thought of our baby's arrival and me becoming a mother thrills me... but that's not the only thing I am looking forward to.  I am so eager to watch Joel be a daddy.  He is already an incredible husband and the best friend a person could ask for, and I know without a doubt he is going to be a fabulous daddy.  Look how proud he is giving his Baby Bjorn carrier a practice run with this doll: )

And finally, I've had a lot of requests for a baby bump picture.... so here ya go!  Jodi just took these yesterday, so it's as accurate as can be.  And I wonder why I can't reach my toes anymore - HAH!!
