Well I'm not gonna lie.... this morning kind of stinks. Joel had to go back to work today, and it was a little rough on Malea and I. It has been so nice the past week and a half having Daddy home with us. We enjoyed the week just relaxing with our new little angel, making a few trips to visit the great-grandparents, and enjoying our visitors that stopped by to see Malea. I enjoyed every second of it (which is why I didn't take the time to post... Daddy has been way better than me lately!) Last night I told Joel I wish he didn't have to go back to work already, and he responded by saying that if our trees started growing money, then he would LOVE to stay home with us. I was half tempted to go out in the night and hang dollar bills on the trees to see if he'd stay another week, but it was too muddy: ) We're really gonna miss him while he's at work, but I know Malea will be so excited to see him when he walks in the door. Even though we'll be missing him, we are SO EXCITED that Grandma Volz (my mom) took the week off of work to spend with us!!! YAY!! Thanks Gram!
Last Monday, Joel's cousins Betsy (and her precious baby, Hudson), Lori, and Aunt Patty stopped by for a visit. We really enjoyed their visit, and they flooded us with their generosity... they brought us tons of delicious meals!!! I'm supposed to be losing weight now that I'm not pregnant, but with food that good, I think the scale is probably going the wrong way: ) Here is a picture of Malea and Hudson (6 weeks old).... it will be so much fun watching them grow up together! They are such cuties!!
Malea has been sleeping very well most nights (yes, I meant to emphasize "most": ) I have been waking her a few times a night for her nightly feedings, and she does a great job of going right back to sleep. And she eats fantastic! That girl has an appetite! We couldn't ask for a better baby! I'm a little scared to have another because I know the chances of the 2nd being this perfect are pretty slim: )
Momma had better go shower so we're all ready for Grandma when she comes, but I have been getting heckled for not posting any pictures lately, so here you go. All of the pictures of her make her look a lot bigger than she really is, so I'm excited for all of you to get to meet her to get a true picture of our precious baby girl!!!!!
Malea is a happy baby pretty much all the time... she throws in an occasional pout if she's hungry or has a belly ache, but 99% of the time, she is happy.
Malea is still loving her baths!
This picture is right after she had a bath... I love how her hair looks after her baths. She has the prettiest blonde hilights... some women pay big bucks for hilights like that: )
Close-up pictures are mommy's favorite!
Malea got to meet Great Grandma Volz last week!
And Great Grandpa Brenneman too!!!
Malea's outfit is as bright as her personality:-)
"Daddy's Princess"... the onesie speaks for itself! I think Joel would put her in that every day if I let him: )
Wide-eyed and so alert! We are anxious to see what color her eyes end up being! So far they look like they are going to be blue (like mommy's!)
Daddy's favorite thing in the world... snuggling with his peanut
Oh so cozy...
