11-11-11 Half Birthday!!

Malea celebrated her 6 month birthday on 11-11-11!  Half a year... really girl?!  CRAZY!!!  That's all I have to say about that... I don't feel like getting teary-eyed tonight: )  I didn't have a chance to take pictures of Malea the morning of her 6 month birthday, but when I got there to pick her up after work, I was tickled pink to see that my mom had celebrated with her while I was at work.  Awe, check these out!!!! Thanks Gammy!!  So cute!!!!

I took the day off work today to take Malea to her 6 month check-up.  The appointment went great, and Malea is still right on track.  She is staying very consistent with her weight... still right at the 50th percentile at a whoppin 16 lbs 3 oz!!!  She had a major length growth spurt and is now 26.5 inches long... bringing her up to the 75th percentile for height!  The doctor and I had a good laugh about her head circumfrence... she was always right at the 50th percentile for head size, until her 4 month check when they said she jumped up to like the 90th percentile or something crazy like that... well today the doc said, "well, I'm pretty sure they measured her head wrong at her last appointment, because I'm pretty certain your daughter's head hasn't SHRUNK".  Turns out she is back down to the 50th percentile again.  Hah!  I thought it was crazy her head had grown so much at her 4 month check, but was just thankful that any head growthspurt happened AFTER delivery- hehehe; )  So the appointment went well.... except for those darn shots again.  Man I hate those!  Four separate pokes!  Ugh!!  She even has a bruise on one of her legs from the shots this time: (  Breaks my heart.  But let me tell ya, she is such a rockstar!  After her appointment I decided to head down to coralville to do some Christmas shopping.... I'm not a big fan of shopping... especially on the weekends... especially close to the holidays... so I decided to get a headstart on my Christmas shopping before the malls get too crazy.  We left home this morning at 10:00, and didn't get home until 7:30.  I'm not sure how she does it... she had to have not been feeling the best from her shots... but she was in the best mood and was such a good girl all day.  In fact, I happened to be walking by the JCP portrait studio and she was so giggly that I spontaneously decided to slip in and have a few quick pics taken of her.  She was just wearing a sweatsuit because I had no intentions of getting her pics taken, and I only had the gal take a handful, but they are actually pretty darn cute considering she had just came from her shots!  Here are the 2 I ordered... Love you baby girl!!!!
