A few nights ago, Joel and I took the Ballard clan out to Arlan and Sue's farm to see the new baby chicks. The boys had a hay day at the farm. Nolan and Brayden both got to hold a chick (for a second anyway: ) Brayden kept insisting for the chick to "fly away birdie". They were very interested in the chicks for quite a while, until they discovered that the saw dust on the ground was almost more entertaining than holding a chick... so then it was off to the pond to see the ducks. Well, that was until Sable vaulted into the pond.

It tickled the heck out of Joel because he was ecstatic over the fact that our pup likes water, but it also scared the ducks away. So after that, the boys wanted to do what any little boy would want to do... play on hay bales! I managed to get a few cute pictures of that too. I remember when we were kids and used to run around on Uncle John's hay bales... ah the good ol' days! Who needs toys when you have hay bales to play on?! After they had enough of the hay, Brayden wanted to sit on the "errange" fence to watch the cows. That was great and all until my dog started picking up old dried up cowpies... wonderful Sable, wonderful. So anyway, that's our trip to the Hollenbeck farm in a nutshell.
