I'm not sure what Joel and I did to upset mother nature, but lately it seems like if there is even the slightest chance of rain anywhere in Iowa, it is going to hit our house... I feel like we're in a cartoon where the rain cloud just looms above our house:o( The rain has become a reoccuring theme throughout this whole house-building ordeal. I woke up around 1:30 this morning to the sound of rain and thunder... I pulled up KCRG's radar hoping it was just a quick-moving sprinkle, but sure enough, there is a slow-moving cell of rain stalled right over top of us. I'm hoping when I wake up in the morning that there isn't much rain in the raingauge (keep your fingers crossed).
Tuesday was a very productive day at ther house. Our geo-thermal guys got all of our geo lines fused together, the concrete crew prepped the garage floor for pouring and poured the base for the trench drain, we got the last bit of roof completely done, our doors and windows got delivered, and we got all of our bathtubs set in all of the bathrooms. We were pleased with all the work that got done, and are looking forward to getting our windows and doors installed today (Wednesday). But now due to this rain, I'm worried that it will be too wet to get around with the sky trak to install the windows, and it will be too wet for the concrete trucks to come out to pour our garage floor, front stoop, and sonna tubes. Hopefully I'm wrong! We will be SO GLAD when this house is DONE and we don't have to worry about the weather anymore.
I have some pictures of today's progress, but they will have to wait for the next post because I'm too lazy to get out of bed to find my camera: ) On that note, I'm going to throw a pillow over my head to block out the sound of rain, and try to catch a few more hours of sleep.
